Department of Instrumentation Engineering

  • Year of Establishment: 1994
  • Level: Under Graduate
  • Duration: 4 Years
  • Total Intake: 60

Instrumentation Engineering, a graduate program was initiated in the year 1994 with a sanctioned intake of 60 students. Since that time, numerous students have gone on to take positions within academic institutions and in industry. The highly motivated, qualified and experienced faculty and the energetic students work together extensively to build interdisciplinary knowledge in the areas of nuclear instrumentation, accelerator instrumentation, instrumentation for high energy physics and astrophysics experiments in addition to process control and bio-medocal instrumentation. Beyond syllabus activities are conducted for the betterment of employment in academia, government organizations, and research, industry, engineering and management positions. Various technical and non-technical forums at provide an exposure to engineering concepts and technology.

The scope of instrumentation has been further advanced by recent developments in filed of MEMS and nanotechnology. This has led to use of advanced technology for instrumentation .Use of smart transducers and embedded systems has become commonplace.. Through a strong course the students are introduced not only to these disciplines but also to laboratory research and instrumentation, the design process, teamwork, technical communication, entrepreneurship, and legal and regulatory issues.

Instrumentation Engineering department at Konkan Gyanpeeth College of Engineering, Karjat offers a four year undergraduate program in Instrumentation Engineering affiliated to University of Mumbai. Undergraduate Course (BE): It is a four year undergraduate degree course.
